Great tactics simulator!
My experience in games like this started in college in the 70s; my ROTC friends introduced me to Waterloo, a paper board game with a hex grid, cardboard unit markers, and dice and a results table to tell you who won each unit(s) engagement. Followed that with the great Avalon Hill games like Blitzkrieg (WWII Eastern Front),
D-Day, Africa Korps, and Tactics II ( it added nukes!). They were lots of fun, but a complete game could take an entire weekend! Computerizing it as this game does is fantastic!
They were good training, for I completed ROTC and served in the US Army as an Infantry officer from 75-80. Most of that time I was assigned to a mechanized Infantry Battalion in Germany, 22 months of my tour was in the Operations section as Assistant S-3. The gaming experience helped me in that job, as one of my duties was Alternate TOC (tactical operations center) commander.
This game and its companion, Armament 2028 are both great and lots of fun. Have not had any problems so far running it on iPad 1.
Highly recommend !
